Job Summary
Evaluate and recommend changes in therapy according to policy and procedure, consulting with physicians and nurses to achieve maximum therapeutic benefit for patients. Maintain and monitor mechanical ventilation, provide emergency airway management as ordered, and perform arterial/capillary pH blood gas sampling and analysis. Act as a clinical resource to nursing staff and ancillary personnel to ensure appropriate care within established standards of care. Perform other duties assigned by management for the timely operation of the department. Work night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with alternating weekends, including one major summer and winter holiday.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) School for Respiratory care
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care as described in the scope of services for Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Ability to follow directions accurately, organize and accomplish work as assigned
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with patients, visitors and Medical team
- Computer skill EPIC EMR
- Registered (RRT) or Registry Eligible (CRT) Respiratory Therapist as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Active New Jersey State License to practice Respiratory Therapy
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
- 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
- Alternating Weekends
- One Major Summer Holiday and One Major Winter Holiday required
- Full Time
Desired Qualifications
- Two to three years of Adult critical care, neonatal/pediatric experience preferred
