Job Summary
Administer respiratory care as ordered by the physician, including intubation, extubation, and manual ventilation during emergencies. Perform daily preventive maintenance and quality control for arterial blood analyzers and co-oximeters, while conducting bedside spirometry and arterial punctures. Provide and maintain patient airways through suctioning and securing tubes, and operate oxygen delivery devices, pulse oximeters, and ventilators. Respond to Code Blue situations, perform CPR, and assist during emergency bronchoscopy procedures. Document all required information in patient records and verify physician orders for contraindications. Maintain BLS, ACLS, and New Jersey Respiratory Care License certifications. Work full-time day shifts (36 hours per week) at RWJBarnabas Health, supporting patient-centered, high-quality academic medicine in New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Current New Jersey Respiratory Care License
- Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider course completion status
- ACLS Certification
- Day Shift
- Full-Time (36 hours per week)
