Job Summary
Perform and oversee diagnostic pulmonary function testing in the Newark PFT lab, including spirometry, diffusion capacity, lung volumes, arterial blood gas sampling, capillary hemoglobin analysis, pulse oximetry with exercise tests, six-minute walk, and oxygen titration; conduct cardiopulmonary stress tests with ECG, blood pressure monitoring, and expired gas analysis; perform or assist with bronchoprovocation tests (methacholine, exercise-induced asthma, cold air), High Altitude Simulation Test (HAST), and Exhaled Nitric Oxide testing; assist physicians during bronchoscopy and tracheostomy tube changes; ensure equipment quality control, maintenance, and record-keeping; educate healthcare providers and participate in research while maintaining professional standards and core values; schedule patient appointments and manage electronic scheduling; shift is dayshift, four 10-hour shifts (7am-5:30pm) with rotating weekdays and regular weekends off; sign-on bonus of $10,000 for eligible candidates; licensure in Delaware required; BLS certification and CPFT/RPFT/RRT credentials preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of JRCRTE Education Accreditation Committee approved School of Respiratory Therapy
- Licensure in the State of Delaware required
- Current BLS certification preferred
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (preferred)
- Certified Pulmonary Function Technician (CPFT) and Registered Pulmonary Function Technician (RPFT) preferred
- Special Requirements: Maintain current RRT, CPFT and RPFT credentials preferred
