Job Summary
Administer medication and implement respiratory care using the evaluate-and-treat process in complex, multiple problem-patient situations, primarily within critical care areas. Manage protocol ventilators, perform airway management including intubation and extubation, and conduct arterial blood gas sampling. Deliver patient and family education while mentoring new employees, students, and peers. Collaborate with the health care team to plan care, verify orders, and perform aerosolized medication and bronchial hygiene. Comply with Wellstar Health System policies and participate in performance improvement initiatives. Requires 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care and all certifications including RRT, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy-Preferred
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS - Amer Red Cross Advanced Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
- PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support or ARC-PALS - Amer Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program or ARC-NALS - Amer Red Cross Neonatal Advanced Life Support or NRP-I - NRP - Instructor or NRP-P - NRP-Provisional (180 Days) within 180 Days
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapi
- RCP - Respiratory Care Prof
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care Required
- Ability to communicate well
