Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist provides direct and indirect patient care across departments, assessing respiratory status in adult, geriatric, pediatric, and neonatal patients and administering treatments. Responsibilities include drawing ABGs, interpreting results, determining treatment plans with medical staff, operating ventilators and inhalation therapies, maintaining patient care quality, assisting with transfers and general duties, and adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and EMTALA regulations. The role requires teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to perform additional tasks as needed in a small facility.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
- At least 2 years of ER/ ICU experience as an RT
- At least 2 years of experience with pediatric patients
- Current unencumbered RT license in the state of practice
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- NRP preferred
