Job Summary
Provide specialized respiratory care to inpatients at Exalt Health's acute rehabilitation hospital. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive respiratory assessments, administering oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, ventilator management, airway clearance techniques, and documenting treatment plans and progress. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapists to develop and monitor individualized care plans aimed at restoring optimal respiratory function. Must maintain appropriate licenses/certifications (RRT, RCP, BLS; ACLS as required by AZ) and demonstrate strong patient education, safety, and equipment maintenance skills. Familiarity with pulmonary function testing, interpretation of blood gas results, and proficient use of Windows-based software for documentation is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the NBRC
- Current, unencumbered license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the practicing state
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS required or preferred depending on state (AZ)
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care or inpatient rehabilitation setting preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management
- Ability to work in an inpatient hospital setting
- Proficiency with medical documentation and Microsoft Windows applications
