Job Summary
Provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to patients from neonatal to geriatric. Performs RT-CRT duties including ABG analysis and EKGs, administers respiratory therapies, and assists with airway management per physician orders. Requires an Associate's Degree; active Respiratory Therapist license in the practicing state; NBRC RRT certification; BLS; ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire. Strong computer/tech skills, clear communication, and patient/co-worker education are essential. On-site day shift PRN at St. Bernard Parish Hospital with potential weekend coverage; compliance with policies and ongoing professional development are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- NBRC Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
