Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist/Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT/RRT) at Dayton Children's Sleep Lab performs diagnostic sleep studies and therapeutic interventions, including polysomnography, sleep staging, MSLT/MWT, and oxygen/ventilator titration, with adherence to AASM standards. Responsibilities include patient assessments, QA feedback, equipment calibration, troubleshooting, mentoring other staff, and providing coverage as needed. Night shift schedule is 6:30 pm–7:00 am, seven nights per week, with a focus on safety, compassionate patient care, teamwork, and continuing quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Experience with sleep studies and sleep staging
- Proficiency in polysomnography, EEG, MSLT/MWT
- Application and titration of oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator support
- Airway management skills, including trach capping
- Calibration and troubleshooting of diagnostic equipment
- Ability to provide patient/family education
- Mentoring or supervisory responsibilities preferred
- Good collaboration with sleep lab team and leadership
