Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist at UR Medicine Thompson Health is responsible for performing basic and advanced respiratory care procedures, providing patient assessments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient care. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, accurately documenting patient interventions, and maintaining health/education records as required. Candidates must be registered by the NBRC and possess a valid NYS license, along with required certifications such as BLS and ALS.
Required Qualifications
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Licensed or has valid Permit as a Respiratory Therapist by New York State Education Department Office of the Professions (NYSED OP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required within three (3) months of start date
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required within one (1) year of start date
- Graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program – Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Bachelor of Science (BS) required
- Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
