Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care for patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions, including evaluating patients to recommend treatment plans and performing endotracheal tube insertions and removals. Provide teaching and counseling to patients and families while promoting continuous quality improvement. Maintain an active CRT or RRT credential, current state licensure, and ACLS certification, with BLS required by start date. Work 4 to 12-hour shifts within a 6-week period at this critical illness recovery hospital in Richmond, VA, offering extensive orientation and potential advancement to full-time roles.
Required Qualifications
- Active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent
- Proof of graduation: college transcript/diploma or high school transcript/diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date
- Current state licensure
- ACLS certification upon hire (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)
