Job Summary
Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assess patients to determine the most suitable treatment method, monitor physiological responses, and document care activities. Communicate treatment details to patients and families while providing staff education. Maintain equipment and perform quality control as ordered by physicians. Work nights from 7pm to 7:30am Monday through Friday with rotating holiday requirements, adhering to a 48-hour schedule every six weeks including 24 weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Per Diem Level I - Must be able to work 48 hours every 6 weeks. 24 of those hours must be on the weekend.
- Days will vary Monday-Friday from 7pm - 7:30am, with holidays requirements.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
- State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
