Job Summary
Conduct respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics for neonatal through geriatric patients. Administer medical gases, medication delivery, and pressure breathing treatments while performing arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing. Establish and maintain airways during CPR, provide patient education, and guide Respiratory Therapy Techs. Maintain equipment, participate in continuing education, and assist the Director with staff assignments and disaster plans. Night shifts from 7pm to 7:30am on a flexible per diem schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory therapy granting eligibility to take exams given by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Registered or Certified by the N.B.R.C.
- Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure
- Current CPR certification
- Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis and interpretation, and cardiopulmonary physiology
