Job Summary
Evaluate respiratory therapy appropriateness, consult physicians to modify orders, and provide clear education to patients and families regarding treatment plans. Accurately document critical values and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for timely emergency interventions. Deliver comprehensive airway management including intubation, tracheostomy care, and treatment of bronchospasm, while performing extubations and post-extubation care across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Initiate and monitor invasive and non-invasive ventilation, perform arterial blood gas analysis, and assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA, JRCTE, or CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- minimum Associate's degree required
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist license
- Current RRT license
- Proficiency in respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, patient assessment, and ABG collection/analysis
- Current BLS- American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of critical care experience preferred
