Job Summary
Assess residents' respiratory status and develop treatment plans based on physician orders. Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and ventilator support. Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment, educate families on disease management, and accurately document all clinical activities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care and respond promptly to respiratory emergencies. Requires current RRT credential, state licensure, and BLS certification. Part-time schedule with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Current state licensure or certification to practice as a Respiratory Therapist
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to perform respiratory therapy procedures and operate respiratory care equipment safely and effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, acute care, or critical care settings
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Strong communication and resident education skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
