Job Summary
Provides respiratory care to all patient populations following physician orders and established standards; performs respiratory therapy treatments and services including oxygen, humidity, mixed gas, monitoring, ventilators (invasive and non-invasive), bronchial hygiene, lung expansion, spirometry, EKGs, and blood gas analysis. Uses therapeutic communication, problem solving, and crisis intervention; reviews electronic medical records, responds to CPR events, and maintains workflow efficiency while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Performs other duties as appropriate within the department.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher from an AMA-accredited program in respiratory care required
- CRT - Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC) required
- RCP - Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NRBC) preferred
- Must possess and maintain license to practice Respiratory Care in Maryland
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) within 90 Days required
- ACLS, NRP, PALS and other certifications are required within a year where required
- 0-3 years of acute care experience required
- Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred
