Job Summary
Perform respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, and ventilation support for in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Conduct diagnostic testing, analyze and report Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs, and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Review and document clinical information while educating patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans. Adapt behavior to specific patient populations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requires a Louisiana license, NRB certification, and BLS; schedule includes 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability with a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current State of Louisiana License as a Respiratory Therapist
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
