Job Summary
Assess patient physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural dimensions while documenting educational needs. Perform respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen management, ventilator monitoring, bronchial hygiene, spirometry testing, and blood gas analysis. Respond to cardiopulmonary resuscitation by maintaining airways and providing ventilation via mask or endotracheal tube. Apply therapeutic communication and crisis intervention principles during patient care. Facilitate workflow efficiency by reviewing electronic medical records and physician orders throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- certified respiratory therapist
- working knowledge of human respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to respiratory care
- Knowledge of the operation of respiratory care equipment and its application in a clinical setting
- The ability to assess hazardous conditions related to respiratory care and take corrective action
- The ability to work with patients of all ages (neonatal to geriatrics)
- The ability to remain calm and function under stressful conditions
- must work well as a team member
- must be articulate and communicate well with all kinds of people
