Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to neonatal through geriatric patients. Set up, monitor, and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation; draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy, assist with artificial airway changes, and perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per established policies. Review and document all clinical information while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requires current Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC certification, NRP certification, and proficiency with Windows-style applications. Schedule includes flexible rotations, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (only for trained therapists working in the NICU)
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
