Job Summary

Assess patients' respiratory status and develop care plans for inpatient and outpatient populations. Initiate, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilation while administering breathing treatments and performing bronchial hygiene techniques. Conduct bedside pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas analysis, and emergency intubation for adult patients. Respond to cardiac arrests and Rapid Response events, including CPR and airway management. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to monitor patient conditions and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Operate respiratory equipment safely and follow infection-control standards. Work full-time night shifts (6:30 PM–6:45 AM) for 75 hours per pay period at a leading healthcare organization in White Plains, New York.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current New York State Respiratory Therapist license upon hire
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
  • Strong respiratory assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Ability to perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis
  • Ability to respond appropriately during cardiac arrest, Rapid Response, and other emergency situations
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to recognize and respond to emergency alarms and clinical signals
  • Ability to operate computers, respiratory equipment, and other clinical devices
  • Ability to transport and lift medical gas cylinders as required
  • Night shift availability (implied by 'Night Shift' in Schedule and 'Previous night-shift Respiratory Therapy experience' as a preferred trait that validates the required schedule)
  • 75 hours per pay period availability (implied by '75 hours per pay period' in Schedule)

  • Previous acute-care hospital Respiratory Therapy experience
  • Critical care or emergency department experience
