Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute-care setting, including administering oxygen, managing ventilators and noninvasive support (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow O2), performing ABGs and PFTs, implementing patient-specific care plans, documenting in the EMR, responding to code blues/rapid responses, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. May serve as Lead RCP during shifts. Requires valid State RCP license, NBRC RRT, BCLS; ACLS (within 60 days), ACLS and PALS possibly required; NRP/PALS preferred. Education: HS diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Relocation assistance available for candidates relocating from outside Illinois. Location: Chicago Metro Area, IL; shift: Nights; full-time; sign-on bonus available; pay range listed as $1,332–$1,792.80 per week (36-hour schedule). Benefits package described.
Required Qualifications
- State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- Registered Respir Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the NBRC required
- ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current
- PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current
- 2 years experience as an RCP preferred
- NRP certificate preferred
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred
