Job Summary
Provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients from neonatal to geriatric populations. Monitors and weans Oxygen Therapy and Artificial ventilation, performs arterial blood gas analysis, EKGs, and delivers intermittent therapy. Assists with artificial airway management and delivers services as ordered by physicians per policies. Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans; performs diagnostic procedures; maintains up-to-date professional knowledge and certifications; participates in staff meetings; and performs related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (only for NICU)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
