Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist role providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to patients across neonatal to geriatric ages. Performs arterial blood gas analysis, monitors and weans oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, assists with airway changes, and delivers therapies per physician orders and established procedures. Requires state respiratory therapy license, CRT credential, BLS, and ACLS/PALS within specified timelines (NRP for NICU-trained therapists). Strong computer skills and effective written and verbal communication are essential for documenting clinical information, educating patients and co-workers, and participating in staff meetings. The position emphasizes adherence to policies, continuous professional development, and compliance with applicable laws and standards. Required Qualifications
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification (only for trained therapists working in the NICU)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Education: Associate's Degree
