Job Summary

Deliver respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, and ventilation support to neonatal through geriatric patients. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, analyze arterial blood gases, and perform diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians. Educate patients and co-workers on treatment plans while documenting all clinical information. Maintain professional certifications and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requires current Respiratory Therapist license, Associate's degree, and BLS/NRP/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
  • Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently
  • Ability to exert in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
  • Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
  • Ability to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
  • Ability to work at a production rate pace
  • Ability to work in an area where patients enter
  • Ability to work directly with patients
  • Ability to work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
  • Ability to handle receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste
  • Ability to comply with all federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
  • Ability to report any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct
  • Ability to ensure patient/employee safety
  • Ability to ensure patient privacy
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
