Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, manage artificial ventilation, draw and analyze arterial blood gases, and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Assist with changing artificial airways, review and document clinical information, and educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans. Maintain professional certifications and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 20 pounds of force constantly
