Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric in-patients and out-patients. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, analyze arterial blood gases and EKGs, and assist with changing artificial airways per physician orders. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, review clinical documentation, and educate patients and co-workers on treatment plans. Maintain professional certifications and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards. Work in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in and willingness to work in one of the following areas: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C.
