Job Summary
Deliver respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, draw and analyze arterial blood gases, and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, including changing artificial airways, while reviewing and documenting all clinical information for each patient. Educate patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans, and maintain professional certifications and up-to-date knowledge of technical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in an eligible location (not Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C.)
