Job Summary
Deliver respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to neonatal through geriatric patients. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, analyze arterial blood gases, and perform diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician. Educate patients and co-workers on treatment plans while maintaining professional certifications and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Review and document all clinical information, attend staff meetings, and adapt to physical demands including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in an eligible location (not Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C.)
