Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, manage artificial ventilation, and analyze and report arterial blood gases and EKGs. Assist with changing artificial airways and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Review and document clinical information, educate patients and co-workers on procedures, and maintain professional certifications. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Requires an Associate's degree, current Respiratory Therapist license, BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification obtained within 90 days of hire
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical skills

- Ability to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 20 pounds of force constantly
