Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, draw and analyze arterial blood gases, deliver intermittent therapy, and assist with changing artificial airways. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, review clinical information, and educate patients and co-workers on treatment plans. Maintain professional certifications and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards. Requires current Respiratory Therapist license, BLS, NRP, and ACLS/PALS certifications within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to exert in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in an eligible location (not Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C.)
