Job Summary
Determine optimal oxygenation and ventilation delivery modes for neonatal patients based on individual needs. Monitor and assess ventilation status through transcutaneous saturation checks, capillary, and arterial blood sampling. Manage airway assessments, including initiation and maintenance of intubation. Participate in neonatal resuscitations and high-risk deliveries as requested. Provide education and supervision to respiratory therapy students and interprofessional team members. Requires current NRP and BCLS certification, with a preference for prior neonatal patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist certified by the College of Respiratory Therapy of Ontario (or graduate license)
- Graduate from an accredited institute of Respiratory Therapy
- Thoroughly familiar with and competent in all aspects of Respiratory Therapy
- Demonstrated clinical and technical ability
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and apply critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful environment
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Current NRP and BCLS required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for Neonatal patients preferred
