Respiratory Therapist

Responsible for assessing customer respiratory needs and selecting, instructing, and troubleshooting appropriate equipment and/or services. Educates oxygen patients on their disease process and the purpose/benefit of oxygen therapy to improve compliance with physician orders. Documents orders for respiratory equipment/services, collects additional information/authorization as needed, and serves as a liaison between the customer, family/caregiver, physician, and health care agencies. Communicates changes in condition to the physician, adjusts the Plan of Care/Treatment accordingly, and completes required paperwork including the Plan of Care/Treatment, Equipment Contact forms, and discharge plans. Requires current Respiratory Therapist license and NBRC credentials; willingness to obtain additional licensure as needed; strong communication and organizational skills; driving may be required.
