Job Summary
Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions by administering oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and aerosol medications. Perform diagnostic tests including arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing while operating and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans, educate patients and families on care protocols, and maintain accurate records ensuring safety and infection control compliance. Requires current RRT or CRT license, BLS and ACLS certification, and experience in acute care or ICU settings preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT) as required by state regulations
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Certification by NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
- Experience in acute care, ICU, or emergency settings
