Job Summary
Assess patients' pulmonary status, develop care plans with physicians and nurses, and deliver respiratory care while reporting safety issues. Intubate and extubate per MD orders, manage ventilated patients, and perform ABG processing and cardiac monitoring. Collaborate daily with the multidisciplinary team to establish discharge planning and reduce length of stay through timely clinical interventions. Orient new associates, mentor team members, and participate in quality monitoring to identify variances affecting outcomes. Participates in orientation of new staff and serves as preceptor for Respiratory Therapists.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy
- NJ licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner
- RRT Certification by NBRC
- BLS
- Certifications in PALS and NRP to be obtained within the first twelve months of employment for all full and part time staff
- Night Shift
