Job Summary
Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based respiratory care to infants, children, and teens across the continuum of care, serving as a clinical and technical resource for age-specific modalities. Collaborate with an interprofessional team to develop and adjust care plans while maintaining the highest standards of safe, compassionate care. Operate advanced equipment including ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, HFJV, and HFOV across general units, NICU, and PICU. Train new staff and students, contribute to ongoing research and quality initiatives, and play a hands-on role in patient outcomes every shift.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy, respiratory care, or a related field
- Less than two (2) years of experience in age-specific critical care
- Graduate of a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
- Certified Respiratory Therapist credential awarded by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist obtained within one year of hire
- Current state-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner Licensure
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an interprofessional team
Desired Qualifications
- Internal employees must go through the competency assessment to advance through the competency-based program
- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education
- Where applicable, obtain ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within one year of hire
- Where applicable, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and STABLE certification must be obtained within one year of hire to work in the NICU
