Job Summary
Administer respiratory modalities to patients of all age groups per medical orders, including medication administration, arterial puncture, and oxygen therapy management. Perform critical care duties such as initiating and managing mechanical ventilation, endotracheal intubation, and attending resuscitation teams. Conduct blood gas analysis, troubleshoot equipment, and provide supervisory oversight of the blood gas laboratory in the absence of a supervisor. Participate in multi-disciplinary clinical rounds and accurately document all interventions in the electronic charting system. Requires an Associate's Degree, NY State RT License, and NBRC registration. Salary range $119,016.21 - $130,058.95 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an American Medical Association approved Respiratory Therapy Program
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapy (RT) License
- current registration from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of ventilator management
- Knowledge of oxygen therapy
- Knowledge of blood gas analysis
- Knowledge of blood gas laboratory regulations
- Knowledge of endotracheal intubation
- Knowledge of aerosolized medication administration
- Knowledge of non-invasive ventilation
- ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years Current Respiratory Care clinical experience
