Job Summary
Direct and indirect respiratory care for assigned patients, including supervision of assigned personnel. Interpret departmental and hospital policies to guide care delivery. Retrieve, communicate, and present information via written, auditory, or visual formats using spoken word, telephone, and manual dexterity skills. Maintain licensure as a Respiratory Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. Complete 15 hours of continuing education annually and remain an active member of AARC. Hold ACLS certification. Requires an associate or preferred bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy with two years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in respiratory therapy
- Two years of experience in respiratory therapy
- Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- ACLS certification
- Interpretive skills
- Frequent interactive and consultative associations
- Management and supervisory skills
- Ability to retrieve, communicate or otherwise present information in a written, auditory or visual fashion
- Written skills
- Telephone skills
- Manual dexterity skills
- Completes 15 hours of continuing education annually
- Active member of AARC
