Job Summary
Prioritize job duties based on patient needs and acuity, administering medication therapies and performing patient transfers. Provide routine respiratory care including ABGs and bronchial hygiene, while managing ventilators, airways, and code blue situations in critical care settings. Act as a patient advocate by incorporating education into interdisciplinary care plans and demonstrating independence in specialty respiratory care. Work PRN nightshifts from 7pm to 7am across five locations in the Greater Charlotte market, ensuring safe, continuous quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year / Associate Degree
- 1 year
- Current RCP licensure in appropriate state
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential
- New graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are required to obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within twelve (12) months of their date of hire
- Ability to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, etc., as well as perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations
- Demonstrates independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care
- Practices according to state requirements and standards
- Ventilator management
- Code blue
- Airway management
- Interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis
- Use of all related protocols for patient care
