Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II delivers intensive respiratory care in complex patient scenarios with ventilator management, aerosolized medications, and airway support. Responsibilities include patient assessment and therapy planning, ABG collection and analysis, weaning and ventilator management, airway management (intubation/extubation/trach care), education for patients and families, mentoring new staff and students, and collaboration with the health care team to ensure safe, high-quality care. Requires NCLEX-equivalent licensure pathway NBRC-RRT, RCP certification, and BLS/ACLS; typically 0-2 years of clinical experience with a focus on critical care. Position located in Fort Worth, TX, primarily in-night shift, on-site.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy (required/preferred)
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or equivalent
- 0-2 years clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well, critical thinking, teamwork, and computer skills
