Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II delivers respiratory care in complex patient-care situations, emphasizing ventilator management, bronchodilator/medication administration, ABG sampling/analysis, and education of patients, families, and staff. The role includes invasive/non-invasive procedures support, cardiac service procedures, pulmonary diagnostic testing, and collaboration with the health-care team to plan and provide safe, high-quality care. Requires strong communication, critical thinking, and ability to work in a critical care setting with independent decision-making, mentorship of new staff, and ongoing professional development. Licenses/certifications required upon hire (NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS, ACLS-I as applicable). Location: Atlanta, GA, USA; Night shift; location-specific responsibilities include support in critical care areas and adherence to WellStar policies and patient-safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- NBRC-RRT – Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP – Respiratory Care Practitioner
- BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ARC-ALS
- ACLS-I – ACLS Instructor or ARC-ALS Instructor
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimum 6 months of critical care
- Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or Bachelor’s in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
