Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) responsible for medication administration and delivering respiratory care in complex, high-acuity adult patients, primarily in critical care. Responsibilities include ventilator management and weaning, arterial blood gas analysis, bronchial hygiene, aerosolized medications, airway management (intubation/extubation/tracheostomy care), education of patients and staff, and collaboration with the healthcare team to plan and deliver safe, evidence-based care. Requires undergraduate degree in Respiratory Therapy (BS preferred) or an Associate’s in Respiratory Therapy, and multiple certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, RCP) with 0-2 years clinical experience, including at least 6 months in critical care. Night shift position at Wellstar Health System, Ravenna, OH; emphasis on patient safety, quality care, and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Required Minimum Education: Bachelors Respiratory Therapy or Associates Respiratory Therapy-Preferred
- All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated (BLS/ARC-BLS, ACLS/ACLS-I, PALS/PALS-I, NRP/NRP-I, NBRC-RRT, RCP)
- Required Minimum Experience: 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Required Minimum Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and computer skills
