Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist II (PT Nights, NICU) provides advanced respiratory care in a critical care setting, including ventilator management, airway management, and arterial blood gas analysis. Responsibilities include patient assessment, therapy planning and execution, education for patients and families, staff development, and collaboration with the health care team. The role emphasizes independent clinical decision-making, adherence to safety and quality initiatives, and ongoing education for students, new employees, and peers. The position operates primarily in the NICU/critical care environment with weekend night hours and a part-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Basic Life Support Required
- BLS - Instructor Required
- BLS - Provisional Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required
- ACLS - Instructor Required
- ACLS - Provisional Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
