Respiratory Therapist II, PT Nights (Non-NICU)

Job Summary
Deliver patient care in complex, multiple problem-patient situations with protocol ventilator management and significant independent decision-making. Perform patient assessment, administer aerosolized medication and medical gas therapy, manage airway procedures including intubation and extubation, and conduct arterial blood gas sampling. Educate patients, families, and support systems while mentoring new employees and students. Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan care and promote evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives. Provide patient care with awareness of population-specific needs and address biological, emotional, and psychosocial requirements. Work part-time nights (24 hours per week) at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well
- Critical thinking skills
- Establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- Computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills
