Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II provides medication administration and comprehensive respiratory care in a critical care setting, with expertise in ventilator management, ABG sampling/analysis, airway management, and patient/family education. The role emphasizes independent decision-making, education of staff and students, and participation in quality/safety initiatives. The position is part-time Night shift in the NICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, with responsibilities spanning direct patient care, collaboration with the healthcare team, documentation, and ensuring high standards of care. Requires an accredited RT education program graduate with at least an associate degree, 0-2 years of clinical experience (6 months CCU), and multiple professional licenses/certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, RT credentials).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science.
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care Required
