Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist II (Part-time Nights) in the NICU at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Provides advanced respiratory care in a critical care setting, including ventilator management, arterial blood gas sampling and analysis, aerosolized medication administration, airway management (intubation/extubation), and education for patients, families, and staff. Plays a key role in coordinating patient care with the healthcare team, promoting safety and high-quality care, and supporting student and staff development. Requires an accredited RT program graduate with at least 20 science hours, an associate degree, and RRT certification, along with BLS and advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) as specified. May participate in education of new employees and ongoing professional development; location is Atlanta, GA (onsite).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree (A.S. degree)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS (Instructor/Provisional)
- PALS (Instructor/Provisional)
- NRP (Instructor/Provisional)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
- PALS
- ACLS
- Required clinical experience: 0-2 yrs with emphasis in critical care
- Ability to communicate well, critical thinking, and computer skills including databases
