Job Summary
Administer aerosolized medication, manage protocol ventilators, and perform airway management including intubation and extubation while conducting patient assessments and arterial blood gas analysis. Deliver care in complex, multiple-problem situations within critical care areas, focusing on wave form graphic interpretation and weaning. Provide patient and family education, mentor new employees and students, and coordinate activities with the healthcare team. Maintain accurate electronic charting, ensure medication safety, and review updated documentation protocols. Requires 0-2 years of critical care experience and NBRC-RRT certification. Night shift in Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science
- Associate's Degree A.S. degree
- NBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist
- RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner
- BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or ACLS-I - ACLS - Instructor
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS-I - PALS - Instructor
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider or NRP-P - NRP-Provisional (180 Days) or NRP-I - NRP - Instructor
- 0-2 yrs clinical experience with minimal 6-months critical care
- Ability to communicate well
- Critical thinking skills
- Establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other health care professionals
- Computer skills including familiarity with databases
- Good customer relations
