Job Summary
Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physician orders. Consult physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as an advanced resource for nursing teams. Execute assigned duties using appropriate respiratory care devices while maintaining ACLS certification. This GIG/Flex/PRN role offers $30-$35/hour base pay with variable shift incentives, available in 4, 8, or 12-hour day or night shifts. No weekend or holiday requirements apply. The team at Mercy Hospital Springfield and Joplin supports a healing ministry through compassionate care and innovative procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program
- Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respirapist (CRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- PALS is required for co-workers who work in the Emergency Room
- ACLS is required
- Must have one year of experience, not to include time on orientation
- Physical demands: push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
- Physical demands: pinch up to 10 lbs
- Physical demands: kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Ability to pick up day OR night shift
