Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist responsible for patient assessment, evaluation and administration of respiratory therapies, diagnostic testing, implementation and troubleshooting of equipment, and monitoring of patients across age groups. Duties include inhaled medication therapy, arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function testing, chest physiotherapy, various oxygen/air mixtures and ventilatory support modalities (e.g., CPAP, BIPAP, nitric oxide), as well as equipment management, record-keeping, and patient instruction. Provides CPR support and assists with intubation and artificial airways as ordered, and participates in transport of patients requiring ventilatory support. Requires credentialing and licensure, BLS, and compliance with mandatory reporting training. Sign-on bonus and relocation package offered; night and day shifts with weekend rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Credentialed as certified or registered respiratory therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care upon hire
- Active license as a respiratory care practitioner in the State of Iowa upon hire
- BLS certified within 3 months of hire
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter
