Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to both in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include operating RT-CRT setups, monitoring and weaning Oxygen Therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing/analyzing/reporting Arterial Blood Gases and EKGs, delivering intermittent therapy, assisting with airway management, and providing education to patients and co-workers while following established policies. Night shift 6:30pm–7am with rotating weekends at St. Bernard Parish Hospital. Requires licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC-RRT certification, and compliance with BLS, ACLS, and PALS timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Required - Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire
