Respiratory Therapist, Full Time Days

Conduct respiratory diagnostic testing, respiratory care, and electrocardiogram testing for patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics. Perform treatments, rehabilitation, and patient teaching while maintaining and cleaning respiratory equipment. Treat patients using oxygen mixtures, chest physiotherapy, and respiratory medications, and consult with physicians to modify care plans. Provide complex therapy requiring independent judgment for life support patients in the Intensive Care Unit and perform regular checks on patients and equipment. Assist in updating evidence-based therapies and protocols. Requires current NYS licensure, CPR, and ACLS/PALS certification within one year. One year of hospital or healthcare experience preferred. On-site orientation is approximately four weeks.
