Job Summary
Deliver respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to neonatal through geriatric patients. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, draw and analyze arterial blood gases, perform EKGs, and assist with artificial airway changes per physician orders. Review and document all clinical information while educating patients and the healthcare team on procedures and treatment plans. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy
- 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Current license as a respiratory therapist in state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a certified or registered respiratory therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly
